Birding Eastern Venezuela in state Sucre
Day 1:
Our bilingual guide will pick us up at Carupano airport. From there we
drive to Vuelta Larga Lodge, where we will stay the next three nights.
After a briefing we will drive from the lodge to the farm “Finca
Vuelta Larga” and will stay there and bird for the rest of the
day. One of our highlights will be the endemic Crimson hooded Manakin.
We will see different antbird species, tanagers and birds of pray and
it one of the best areas to see little Cockoo in Venezuela

Day 2: After an early breakfast we will drive
for one hour to a mountain which is called the Cerro Humo. Here we will
look for all kind of birds. Some of the highlights are endemics like
Handsome Fruiteater and Scissor tailed Hummingbird

Day 3:
in the morning we will drive to the coast. There we take a boat and we
drive along the mangroves. In the mangroves we look for Silvered, Black
throated and Jet Antbird. In this area we will find the Rufous Crab
Hawk. After a lunch at the Tierra Firme we drive to the Oilcave, which
is at Caripe. Here we will have an excellent look at the Cave to see
and listen to the thousands of Oilbirds which live here!
Overnight at Vuelta Larga lodge
Day 4: Here we will take the hole day to
observe se Avifauna at “Finca vuelta Larga” we will fill
our lists with forest species and also with Llanos species in the
savannas. At the lagoon of vuelta Larga we also will see some turtles
and caimans
Day 5: After breakfast and a short birding
around the lodge we will drive to the airport and have the possibility
to conect to the Canaima nationl park, to the beautyful west Venezuela
birding sides or to the international Airport
