Birds and Birding in Venezuela
Venezuela is, besides Peru and Colombia, the world’s richest country in birds
Venezuela is pure nature. It’s a combined country with complete
vegetation’s level. The highest concentration is found, at a
certain point, in Mérida: It goes northern from 5000mts in the
Andes to the Caribbean and southern to the Amazon through elfy- and
cloud forests over gallery forests, to the savannahs and swamps in
los Llanos. In the east is the Orinoco Delta, tropical rainforest and
the Gran Sabana with table top mountains which are called
Tepuis. Los llanos is excellent for wildlife.

Through this variety of vegetation lives more than 1400
South American bird species. We have our base in the Andes in Merida
where we have our lodges and almost daily we have birdwatching
excursions leaving from the Andes to Los Llanos to see birds and
wildlife.
We also organise frequently excursions to all
destinations in Venezuela like Henri Pittier national park, east
Venezuela and la Gran Sabana to see the Tepui endemics at La Escalera,
Sierra de Lema and to see the Harpy Eagle at Sierra de Imataca.
